Exercise Can Help You Grow Taller The Secret is HGH Production

Genetics and the environment determine your height. While some factors are out of your control, there are actually some things you can do that can increase your likelihood of reaching your full height potential, providing your growth plates haven't yet closed.

Once your growth plates have closed (occurs in your mid 20s) your height stays the same, unless you opt for more aggressive methods like surgery or special exercise equipment.

Start by calculating what your projected height is, either in centimeters or inches. You can do this by using your parent's height. Add the height of both your parents together, then add 5 inches (13 cm) for boys and subtract 5 inches (13 cm) for girls. Now divide by 2. The results give you the predicted height +/- 4 inches.

It seems that exercise can help you to grow taller under the right conditions. If your growth plates have already closed, regular exercise won't help you grow taller; however, if your growth plates are still open you can still affect your growth. Exercises such as biking, swimming, yoga, running, dancing, individual sports, team sports, weight lifting, and any other exercise are beneficial.

Some exercises to try include:

The Cobra - Lie on the floor face down with your palms on the floor under your shoulders. Arch your spine up leading with your chin. Slowly arch as far back as possible. Each repetition should last between 5-30 seconds.

The Bridge - Lye down with your knees bent and your feet flat on the floor as close to your butt as you can get them. Grab your ankles and hold onto them while rising your hips up. Arch your spine, and lift your abs towards the ceiling as high as possible. Go back down. If you aren't able to hold onto your ankles, keep your arms at your side and then you can use them to push yourself up. Each repetition should last between 8-10 seconds. At first this stretch can be hard but don't give up you'll get it over time.

Straight Leg Up - Lie on your stomach with your hands behind your neck, then raise one of your legs as high as you can. Repeat with the other leg. Make sure you keep your legs straight. Each repetition should be 5 seconds.

There are plenty of others. Create your exercise routine and maximize your benefits.

When combine them with the right diet and you get enough sleep you'll maximize your benefits for getting the most out of your height. There is no evidence that stretching will help you grow taller, but it can improve your posture, which can make you look taller, and it is important to stretch before you exercise to reduce your injury risk.

Practicing good posture will also help you to look taller. Hunching or rolling your shoulders over can affect the curvature in your spine when it is still growing. So keep your shoulders back, your chin high, and make sure your hips are over your feet. Instead of slouching walk with purpose, sit up straight in chairs and just pay attention to your posture.

What you can do to increase your height might be limited, but you can certainly make sure that you do not come up short on your natural height because of environmental issues.

  • Alcohol and drugs will both stunt your growth if ingested while you are still growing.
  • Malnutrition or unhealthy eating can stop you from reaching your natural height.
  • While scientific studies have shown that caffeine doesn't stunt your growth, what it does do is interfere with sleep, and to grow to your natural height you need to get adequate sleep.
  • While still somewhat inconclusive a number of studies have shown that those exposed to smoke or second hand smoke are shorter than non smokers. Best thing you can do is not smoke - why take the chance.
  • Anabolic steroids have been shown to inhibit bone growth, lower sperm count, elevate blood pressure, increase the risk of heart attack, and decrease breast size.
  • Other Factors That Can Maximize Your Height

Research has shown that teenagers and those who have not reached their full growth need 8.5 to 11 hours of sleep each night. That's because the body not only regenerates tissue while you sleep, but it also grows. Create a sleep space that's calm and relaxing, quiet, and eliminate any unnecessary light.
