Are You Ready to Evict Your Pain

You’ve suffered an injury and all you can think of is to just ‘suck it up.’ However, that just might be the worst thing you can do according to a recent study from Imperial College London.

In the study, most of those participating chose to have tiny electric shocks done immediately rather than wait for a painful appointment with the dentist.

According to the researchers, waiting makes your pain sting worse. “When people are waiting for pain, they take into account that they’ll have to anticipate it for as long as they’ll be waiting,” says study author Giles Story, a Ph.D. candidate.

The study goes on to say that, this will motivate a person to attempt to completely escape the moment—or if they are unable to do that, they will attempt to have it dealt with as quickly as possible.

The thing is the longer you find yourself suffering with your pain the more likely it is to become chronic. There are a number of things you can do to reduce or eliminate your pain depending on what type of pain you are dealing with. Of course, in some cases you might need to see a doctor and you may need to take prescription medications, but that’s not always the case.

If you work in an office, you might find you develop headaches or sore shoulders. Office pain can actually become chronic because you spend too much time in a particular position, which normally is sitting hunched over a desk working on a keyboard. One thing you can do is make sure you stand up at least every 15 minutes and move around a little, even if it’s just at your desk. You can also do some resistance stretches. You can use a resistance band or grab a door handle. Stretch everything out.

If you suffer from chronic pain, such as lower back or arthritis, there are some things you can do to help alleviate the pain. You should make sure that you are always in good posture form. You can use heat to treat muscle spasms anywhere in your body not your lower back. Ice can also help as it will dull the pain and reduce the swelling.

NSAIDS are often effective in treating pain because they also help to reduce inflammation that occurs when you are injured or around a chronic pain region. Follow the direction on the bottle or talk to your doctor.

Many herbal remedies on the market have shown to be effective in some cases. For example, many Chinese remedies use a poultice made up of herbs that heat. It’s applied to the area where the pain is and works deep below the skin to eliminate inflammation and pain.

You can also take an HGH supplement. Research has shown that this can actually do two things – reduce the risk of injury and help your injury to heal faster. Many athletes use HGH to help them recover faster from an injury; however, this is a very controversial subject. Human growth hormone supplements such as Sytropin can help to increase lean muscle mass and reduce fat. It can help to strengthen and tone muscles, which has the benefit of reducing the likelihood of injuries.

Acupuncture and/or acupressure have both been effectively used to reduce pain. A trained professional should conduct these treatments. The use of the TENS can also be beneficial. This sends small electrical charges to the nerve.

In cases where the pain complicated and doesn’t seem to respond to treatments, it’s a good idea to ask your doctor to send you to a pain clinic, which offers a comprehensive range of treatments. Pain specialists will look at your individual case and determine the best treatment or combination of treatments to control your pain.

Whether it’s a mole, you need to have removed or you need to have a tooth pulled, you should schedule the appointment to deal with it as soon as possible. The researchers go on to say that if you need to do something painful like a tough workout but you’ve been avoiding it, you should get it done as soon as possible. Tell tons of people what it is you plan to do so that it builds commitment in you.

The problem with pain is that if you don’t address it, most times it can quickly become chronic. The mind is an interesting space. You’ve likely heard of people who have had an amputation and still feel pain in the limb that’s no longer there. That’s because the pain signals come from the brain, which means that treatments need to address this.

So whether you are suffering from a backache, a repetitive strain injury or an amputation you need to get ready to evict your pain and take back your life. How that looks will be as individual as you are, but what’s important is that you make the decision to ‘end the pain.’
